Here she is....

Maude Elizabeth Beecher
Jan 10, 2011
3lbs 13oz
16 in long

As you can see we did not get the birthday we had wanted for our little one...Due to a concerned & very excellent Dr.  we got her here safe and sound, which is more important anyway!!!

There's always a story isn't there?  Well here is our own "born every minute" episode.  That morning I had a to do list at least a page long.  After sleeping in, the last time in a very long time i'm sure, I started working on that list with the dreaded trip to the Wal-mart.  My Wal-Mart runs never turn out as planned and this day was not any different.  As we pulled into the parking lot I received a call from my Dr-who in my opinion is the best! He was calling to check on me & Maude to make sure all was well.  He had been on call over the weekend & had ran into a case similar to mine which didn't end well at all. He got nervous & decided we needed to get her here as soon as we could.  So while he was setting up the time for me to come in, we made a mad dash thru the store grabbing some of those last minute items.  By the time we got to the car I was back on the phone with the Dr & planning to head to the hospital as soon as I could get Jacob home & pack a bag-one of the items on my list.

After getting to the hospital and getting thru the dreaded paper work of all paper work they started what they told me could be a very long process.  After getting 2 doses of the medication and waiting for it to do its job it was around 8 in the evening.  As the contractions got stronger Maude's heart rate got lower.  we decided to call it a night & they gave me something to stop the contractions-not something I recommend.  At this point I hadn't eaten since before noon so my nurse talked to the Dr & got the green light for some Cafe Rio & a diet coke-could a girl ask for more?  So my mom headed to get the food, but as she was leaving my hopes were dashed, no cafe rio for me, but I had the possibility of soup and crackers if Maude behaved for a bit.  I got that soup and crackers but before I had even eaten half a cracker my food was literally taken from me.  They were worried because the contractions hadn't lessened, so they gave me another dose of that awesome medication.  At this point we sent everyone home to get some rest because in my mind we weren't going to do anything until the Dr came in the morning.  Boy was I wrong.  Around 11:15 I had a couple of bigger contractions that sent Maude's rate to low for everyones liking.  As we watched the monitor in my room Dr Lunt was watching it from his house, when he saw the dip he typed a note to prepare for a c-section.  No more than 2 mins later the room was hopping with nurses getting me ready to go.  As I walked-yes I walked to the operating room-Jacob was frantically putting on the lovely gown booties and mask(pictures to follow soon).  It all happened rather quickly after that and at 11:45 that night our little Maude came into this world.  We had prepared for her to go straight to the NICU, but were pleasantly surprised when we told she didn't have to go that she could remain with us in my room.  She did stay with us for a few hours then her blood sugar dipped and they took her to the NICU to get it where it needed to be. For the next 13 days thats where we hung out.  I can't complain, they took awesome care of her & us and we will always be grateful for the nurses & Drs, but next time we do this I sure hope we don't repeat our stay there!

Love that you posted the story, you will love to go back and read it again.
Unfortunately, I know of the case that didn't end too well. It was a couple that I was good friends with out in San Diego. They were in my ward and then moved to St. George for a job. Very sad news so when I heard your dr. was concerned and wanted to deliver that day I knew why. SO SO glad things turned out the best. She is such a little miracle. Hope you are adjusting and doing well. Post pics!!!

I thought I knew your story, and I did know a lot of it, but thank you for telling "the rest of the story"! What a miracle for sure!

Maude just knows how to make an entrance :) Super intense story, especially for your first time up to bat. We are so incredibly excited to meet The Divine Miss M as soon as we can get out to Utah. Hope she starts sleeping through the night soon!

I'm so glad that you are both healthy and doing well. How scary, but I'm glad that the Doctor knew to take her c-sect and get her here! I bet you're just enjoying every minute of having her!
